Hi, I’m Mike Hancock with Hancock Injury Attorneys and today I want to talk to you about the importance of following your doctor’s recommendations.
First, the main reason that it’s important to follow your doctor‘s recommendations is it’s going to give you the best chance of getting better and making a full physical recovery.
Second, it’s going to give you the best chance of making a great recovery from your personal injury claim. The reason that it’s important is this, the insurance adjusters who are evaluating your claims are reading all of your medical records and they are looking at what recommendations the doctor’s making. If they see that the doctor is recommending that you come to physical therapy 2 to 3 times a week for 4 to 6 weeks and they see that you’ve only gone one time over a period of 4 weeks. They’re going to use that information to their best advantage and argue that you obviously weren’t hurt as bad as you were claiming to be because you didn’t follow the doctor‘s recommendations for medical treatment and use that against you in your personal injury claim.
So there are two main reasons to follow through with your doctor’s recommendations. First, it’s going to give you the best chance to make a full physical recovery from your injuries. The second is that it is going to give you the best chance of getting fully and justly compensated for all of the injuries, the pain, the suffering, the inconvenience, the disability that you’ve been through as a result of someone else’s negligence.
