How Long Does a Personal Injury Case Take in Tampa

Hi, this is attorney Mike Hancock with Hancock Injury Attorneys. One of the most frequently asked questions I get for my clients, especially during an initial consultation, is how long will it take to resolve a personal injury claim.
Well, that is also one of the toughest answers to accurately answer at the very beginning because we don’t know the extent of your injuries. We don’t know when you will reach something called maximum medical improvement. This is the point at which you’re as good as you’re going to get as a result of your injuries. Your doctor can then provide an opinion as to what future medical expenses you may need, what future medical treatment you may need, and how much that’s going to cost.
So, to answer your question generally speaking in a personal injury claim we try to resolve all of our personal injury claims within four to six months. For those that we can’t resolve within four to six months we usually end up filing a lawsuit and then it may take another six to eight months before results.
So those are the general timeframes to resolve personal injury claims; we like to do it within four to six months and then sometimes it may take another six to eight months beyond that
