Have you noticed your commute is taking increasingly longer? You are not the only one. According to the US Census Bureau, 150 people move to the Tampa Bay area every day. Tampa is actually the third most popular city to move to in the US.
The average commute time in Tampa had increased by 2 and a half minutes over the past 5 years. This is 10 more hours a year commuting. With increased congestion, comes increased accidents. As more people crowd the roads it is crucial to stay focused and ready for anything.
To help alleviate the congestion, and also hopefully decrease the chance of getting into an accident, transportation experts are working to speed up construction projects around the area including areas in Pasco, Brandon, North Pinellas and South Tampa. To help ease your commute, the experts say to avoid driving between 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM and 5 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. By not driving during these times, you will save time behind the wheel and help ease extra congestion on the road.
