Clients with personal injury cases pay their attorney on a “contingent fee basis” in Tampa and throughout Florida. This means that our attorney’s fees are contingent upon us reaching a favorable settlement or verdict in your case.
This contingent fee is set by the Florida Bar as one-third of the recovery you receive in your case. However, that means if no settlement or recovery is awarded (extremely rare) you do not owe us anything. Not even the expenses that we upfront such as printing, buying crash reports, postage and more! The contingent fee also means that you don’t have to pay a personal injury attorney until after you’ve received the means to do so via your settlement. There is no hourly fee to pay Mike or another personal injury attorney.
