Super Bowl Sunday Safety
Are you ready for Superbowl LI? It’s almost time for the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots to battle it out. Super Bowl parties will be happening at homes and restaurants all over Tampa Bay, and we want to remind you to party, but party responsibly. We know, we know. Beer and football go together like peanut butter and jelly. By all means, drink and have fun, but make sure you have a plan to get home safely. Here are some tips to make sure you (and hopefully your team) are #winning on Super Bowl Sunday:
- Just Don’t Bring a Car at All: If you are planning on going out to a spots bar or a house party for Super Bowl Sunday and planning on drinking, just don’t drive in the first place. Use a ride-sharing service, a taxi, have a friend drop you off, or carpool with someone you know isn’t drinking later. This will innately prevent you from making a maybe fatal mistake.
- Spend the Night: If you are going to a friend’s or family’s party and you get a little to rowdy, don’t drive home. Just spend the night and sleep it off. If they are your true friends anyway, they won’t let you drive home.
- Tow To Go: Did you drive to a sports bar and can’t leave your car even though you have been drinking? No problem. AAA and Bud Light are taming up again to offer free rides and tows to both AAA-members and non-members alike. This service will be in place in the Tampa area Friday, Feb. 3. through 6 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6. Their goal is to keep impaired drivers off the road. It is offered based on availability, no reservations, and you have a 10-mile radius from our pick-up location to go your destination. Know that the driver can only take you and one other person. Call 855-286-9246 to use the service.
With so many ways to get around driving home drunk there are no excuses. We also recommend eating plenty of those delicious Super Bowl snacks so you stay fueled during the game, and maybe not have a terrible hangover if you are drinking. Have a fun, safe Super Bowl Sunday!
