I always wanted to basically represent the people who were injured in as opposed to the insurance companies. In 1996 I left the insurance defense firm that I was at and opened my own practice and from 96 to about 99 it was myself and some support staff. But business was growing and we are getting more and more clients and at that time Claire Hancock, my wife, is also an attorney she was able to leave the firm she was at and she came over and we formed the law firm that is still in existence today. So from about 1999 to present we we’ve had our own law firm and we continue to grow, we continue to get the majority of our cases from referrals from other clients, past clients current clients we got a lot of referrals from other attorneys and other doctors in town.
We want to make sure that our clients have a great experience with a law firm and whether it’s a small case or an extremely large case, whether it’s a simple injury case that resolves within months or whether it’s a wrongful death case the most important thing to us is to make sure that the client has a good experience and we do things differently here. What we do, I meet with each and every one of my new clients, we probably spend a good hour or so meeting personally with each and every client whether it’s a slip-and-fall type of case or a simple car accident, it takes it takes at least an hour or so just to meet with those people ask them all the appropriate questions. It is asking them questions that I have figured out over my 25 years of practice that I know that I’m going to need later on to best, you know, pursue and prosecute the case for.
